An unmissable weekend for green thumbs and budding gardeners.Unearth gardening treasures and meet the people that grow the plants at this unique gardening and plants expo. Enjoy a relaxing weekend where you can shop for plants and learn all about them at the same time.
This weekend you can meet with and buy direct from over fourty nurseries and plant growers offering a vast range of plants. The Dandenong Ranges forms part of the heart of Victoria’s plant growing community and this extraordinary expo weekend brings all of the best nurseries and plant growers together for you to enjoy.
With over 40 nurseries participating, there are loads of plants on offer. Some of the plant groups specifically featured are; Roses, Spring Bulbs, Orchids, Dry Garden Plants, Cliva, Ferns, Perennials, Annuals, Bonsai, Carnivorous Plants, Heirloom Vegetables, Seeds, Herbs, Trees, Water Plants and more. This year's event sees the continuation of the huge Australian Tuberous Begonia display. In many cases, the blooms of these begonias measure in excess of 25cm across. Entry to the begonia display is included in your admission price.
Gather knowledge from free gardening talks and demonstrations which run throughout the weekend. The speaker program offers experience, knowledge and inspiration from specialists in their field. Garden expert and personality Stephen Ryan is compere throughout the weekend, adding his informative and fun approach to the talks. Key note speaker Jane Edmanson present on both Saturday and Sunday. Keep an eye on the website for updates on speakers and times. Other gardening doyens will be imparting their wisdom including David Glenn and Meryl Johnson.
The setting of Tesselaar gardens are filled with Roses and Liliums as well as a variety of unusual and rare perennials. A range of locally made food and refreshments are available or you are welcome to bring a picnic. Even dogs on leads are welcome. Leave your plants at the Plant Creche with the local Girl Guides who will store and deliver your plants to the car all for a gold coin donation.
The delightful Dandenong Ranges Yarra Valley region provides a stunning backdrop for this unmissable event. This area is home to a number of magnificent gardens to visit over the weekend.
